Museums in Sardinia

The museum hosts material from excavations on the prehistoric period Sardinian (necropolis Anghelu Ruiu, Nuraghe Palmavera, Nuraghe Nieddu etc).One can admire this period: necklaces made of bone, characteristic basket vases andCycladic figurines representing the mother goddess.

Some mine workers created the museum in 1998. The aim is to keep and let know many of those things that have enabled the miner to dominate the rock, studying and creating new things, become the creator of a mining culture that for centuries was the center of social and economic life.

The museum represents all aspects of traditional material and culture of Sardinia (clothes, jewelry, textiles and wood, weapons, masks, cakes, folk music instruments, tools and instruments and household work, etc).

The National Gallery of Cagliari, located within the museum complex of the Citadel Museum is founded on the existing structure of the Royal Arsenal. The gallery has a beautiful and interesting ethnographic collection.
